I started at Poulsbo Community Orchestra in the spring of 2016 as their Stage Manager, where I had the joy of getting to assist with all on the day needs of the Orchestra on a concert day. In 2018, I was promoted to the role of Production Manager. This was a new role for the Orchestra created as a result of the growing needs of the Orchestra. I was selected to fill this roll thanks to my diligent work in expanding community connections, and stakeholder engagement during my time as Stage Manager.
While working as Production Manager, I had the oppurtunity to work with a diverse base of stakeholders, including theater staff, conductors, board of directors, and musicians. Collaborating with the many people that make a concert possible brought me great joy, and I valued the input of various music directors, venue staff and program managers to create event timelines, run-of-show, and safety policies. I also expanded the volunteer network who helped with front of house duties by working directly with the North Kitsap High School Key Club to engage youth in various event support roles.
Using my background in technical theater, I worked alongside various venue production teams to communicate logistics, including walk-throughs to review event timelines and technical requirements with venue staff and patterns before an event to ensure full preparation and clarity on responsibilities leading up to a show.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, my work with Poulsbo Community Orchestra was put on hold and when the concert season was once again able to resume, I was no longer local enough to the Poulsbo area to continue my work with PCO.
