I’ve been very honored to have worked with Guild of Nerds for the past three years as an Executive Director. Being able to get involved on such a deep level with the Cosplay Communities of the UK and Ireland has been extremely rewarding.
Some of my key achievements with the Guild have been:
- Developing educational resources for the community to increase opportunities for cosplayers new to the hobby
- Creating a new Cosplay Competition for the MegaCon Live Events, custom built for the attendees of the MegaCon Live shows and the UK Competitive Scene
- Championed strategic planning and operational oversight to foster inclusivity and skill building within the cosplay community, seeing an increase in community engagement of 40%
- Trained coordinators within the team and expanded the scope of the Guild’s influence in the UK cosplay community
I have been very lucky to work with some incredible people while with the Guild. Stakeholder engagement has been a key part of my role with the Guild. The chance to create programs to help uplift cosplayers of all backgrounds has been a highlight, as well as being able to play a role in increasing competitive opportunities within the UK cosplay community for cosplayers of all skill levels.
